GUTHRIE, KY – Two people died and three others suffered injuries resulting from a serious crash on US-97 last Friday.

According to WTVQ, the three-vehicle crash took place on June 18th near the Hadensville Road intersection.

Investigators with the Kentucky State Police Say 71-year-old Mark Stoltzfus was traveling south on the freeway when his 2015 Dodge Ram slammed into the rear of a 2015 Nissan that was waiting to make the left turn.

Stoltzfus’ vehicle then careened into the oncoming lane, where it crashed head-on into a 2015 Toyota.

Both occupants in the Toyota, a 51-year-old female, and a 13-year-old male, were killed in the crash. All three occupants in the Nissan were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

It is unclear if Stoltzfus sustained any injuries in the wreck.
