Louisville hit-and-run crash leaves bicycle rider critically injured
LOUISVILLE, KY – Louisville Metro police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that critically injured a bicyclist, WAVE reports.
Officers responded to the scene Sunday afternoon on West Market Street near 30th Street in the Russell neighborhood at about 2:15 p.m. Investigators determined that a man riding a bicycle eastbound on West Market Street was struck from behind by a vehicle. The rider, whose identity was not released, was hospitalized in critical condition at University of Louisville Hospital.
The driver left the scene in the vehicle after the crash, police said. The police department’s Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.
