2 dead after vehicles collide on KY 1006 in Laurel County

LONDON, KY – Police in London released details of a deadly collision on a state highway last week, according to the Times-Tribune.

The incident took place Thursday on KY 1006 near the intersection of Reams Lane at 9:09 p.m. According to London City Police, 21-year-old Christian Shrader of London was driving a Kia Optima east on the roadway when he crashed into a Cadillac SUV that was headed westbound.  Two passengers in the Optima were pronounced dead at the scene.  They were identified as 20-year-old Jacy Ferrell of London and 20-year-old Daniel Smith of Corbin.

Shrader and the driver of the Cadillac, Eric Smith of Piedmont, South Carolina, were taken to Saint Joseph London for treatment.  No information was released on the extent of their injuries.

KY 1006 was shut down the crash investigation, which is ongoing.
