News: 70-year-old driver, teenage passenger killed in Bardstown collision

BARDSTOWN, KY – Kentucky State Police said a collision between two vehicles in Nelson County killed an elderly driver and her teenage passenger.

According to a report by WAVE, the wreck occurred in the area of New Shepherdsville Road and Deatsville Road in Bardstown Sunday morning at about 11:15 a.m.

State troopers said a vehicle driven by 70-year-old Jacqueline Houston of Coxs Creek turned in front of a northbound Chevy Silverado pickup truck near the intersection.

Houston and her 15-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Chevy, 39-year-old Joseph Curtsinger of Bardstown, and a passenger, 44-year-old John Poynter of Bardstown, suffered minor injuries.  Both were transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital.  Another adult and a child riding in the pickup were not injured.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
