LOUISVILLE, KY – A man was fatally struck by a train while walking on tracks in the Auburndale area early this morning.
According to a report by WHAS, the man was hit by a CSX train at about 5 p.m. as he was on the tracks near New Cut Road.
The train operators told police they sounded the horn and attempted to brake, but were unsuccessful and ended up hitting him.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is unclear at this time.
