Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on McClelland Circle in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, KY – Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in Scott County on Saturday night.

WTVQ reports Georgetown police officers responded to the scene on McClelland Circle near Fincastle Way at about 7:30 p.m. Investigators said 47-year-old Christopher Bell was in the roadway when he was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe.

Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tahoe, Joseph Carhart, was reported to be cooperating with investigators and did not appear to have been impaired at the time of the crash.

The Georgetown Police/Scott County Sheriff Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting the investigation into Bell’s death.
