Taylorsville man dies after 2-car collision on Spencer County highway

SPENCER COUNTY, KY – The Kentucky State Police said a driver was killed in a two-car collision in Spencer County last Wednesday.

According to state troopers, 46-year-old Dustin Herrick of Peewee Valley was driving a Chevrolet Silverado south on KY-155 and crashed into a northbound BMW driven by 68-year-old Gerald Tromp of Taylorsville.

Tromp was pronounced dead at the scene by the Spencer County Coroner. The Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District reported that Herrick was extricated by a citizen prior to emergency responders arriving on the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours for the crash investigation, which is ongoing.  Any witnesses were asked to contact Kentucky State Police.
