Update: Indiana man dies weeks after I-64 crash in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY – A man from Indiana succumbed to his injuries weeks after a major wrong-way crash that killed his wife on I-64 in Louisville.

According to WDRB, the incident occurred on June 28th shortly after midnight near the exit to 3rd Street.

Police say 44-year-old Allen Hinkle, was heading west on the interstate when a BMW traveling east in the westbound lanes slammed head-on into his Saturn.

Hinkle’s wife, 42-year-old Rachelle Hinkle, was pronounced dead at the scene. He and their two children were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, Hinkle succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, July 10th. The conditions of the children remain unclear at this time.

The driver in the BMW, 25-year-old Faith Turner, was arrested and charged with murder, assault, and DUI.
