ADAIR COUNTY, KY – Kentucky State Police and local rescue squads were at the scene of a fatal head-on crash in Adair County on Sunday morning.
State police issued a news release on the collision that took place on Bridgewater Road at about 10:43 a.m.
The initial investigation inducted that 28-year-old Jessican Wilkinson of Columbia, Kentucky was driving a Chrysler Van north on Bridgewater Road when she crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Ford Mustang. Police said a 16-year-old from Columbia was driving the Mustang and “was unable to avoid the collision because of the hillcrest.”
A juvenile passenger in the back seat of the Mustang was pronounced dead. The Mustang driver and another juvenile passenger were taken to T.J. Health. No details were released on their condition. Wilkinson and her two passengers, a 31-year-old man and a three-year-old child, sustained minor injuries.
Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating the wreck.
