LEXINGTON, KY – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a garbage truck in Lexington Thursday morning, reports WKYT.
Police said a woman was walking across Winchester Road at about 8:30 a.m. when a garbage truck turning left onto Winchester struck her near the intersection with Loudon Avenue. The woman was outside the crosswalk at the time, police said.
The pedestrian was transported to UK Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
A portion of Winchester Road was shut down by police for the crash investigation.
