LOUISVILLE, KY – Louisville Gas and Electric have confirmed the diver who went missing while conducting an inspection at the Mill Creek Power Plant died last Thursday.

According to WFPL, 19-year-old Jaxxyn Lee Wood worked for Bulldog Diving, a company hired by LG&E to examine a pump intake in the Ohio River.

The diving crew lost radio contact with Wood at about 12:30 p.m. while he was inspecting the pump for debris. His body was recovered by another dive team at about 9:15 p.m.

The Deputy Coroner believes the cause of death is consistent with drowning at this time. However, the investigation is still underway.
